Donald Firth retired and the company was voluntarily wound up in February 2020. The alarms T&D installed are still working, and we still service every panel they fitted across Bathgate, Whitburn, Livingston, Linlithgow and the rest of West Lothian.
T&D Security Systems retired in 2016. The company was voluntarily wound up in February 2020.
T&D Security Systems traded from 30 Hardhill Road, Bathgate for over 25 years as a NACOSS Gold installer, until founder Donald Firth retired. The T&D limited company (SC298847) was formally struck off the Companies House register on 18 February 2020.
The brand no longer trades, but the alarms they fitted are still working. We are an independent local alarm engineer covering every postcode T&D used to. If you are looking for someone to service, repair or upgrade your T&D system, you are in the right place.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often from ex-T&D customers across West Lothian.
Who took over T&D Security Systems?
T&D Security Systems retired in 2016 when founder Donald Firth stepped down. The limited company was voluntarily wound up on 18 February 2020 and no longer trades. We are an independent local alarm engineer based in West Lothian, servicing the systems T&D installed across Bathgate, Whitburn, Livingston, Linlithgow and the rest of the area.
Is T&D Security Systems still trading?
No. T&D Security Systems Limited was voluntarily struck off the Companies House register on 18 February 2020. The brand no longer trades. The alarms T&D installed are still working. We service them across Bathgate, Whitburn, Livingston, Linlithgow and the surrounding West Lothian towns.
Can someone else service my T&D alarm?
Yes. Any qualified intruder-alarm engineer can service a system originally installed by T&D. You are not contractually tied to any one company. You can switch your maintenance contract to a different provider at any time. We make the changeover painless.
Will I lose my monitoring if I change alarm company?
No. Monitoring is handled by a separate Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). We either transfer your existing monitoring or move you to one of our ARC partners. We handle the paperwork and there is no gap in cover during the switch.
How do I know what alarm panel T&D installed in my house?
Open the small box mounted on a wall inside your property, usually in a hallway cupboard, under the stairs, in the garage, or in the loft. The panel will have a manufacturer name on it: Scantronic, Honeywell Accord, Honeywell Galaxy, Texecom Veritas or Texecom Premier. If it is something else, send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you exactly what you have and what servicing it needs.
How much does it cost to service a T&D alarm?
A standard annual service for a domestic intruder alarm includes a full system check, backup-battery test, sensor calibration and a certificate of service. We quote each property on its own merits. Call 01506 333 102 or request a free survey and we will give you a fixed price up front.
My T&D alarm is beeping or showing a fault, what does it mean?
The most common faults on legacy T&D systems are a low backup battery (panel beeps, shows "battery low" or a flashing red LED) or a sensor low-battery warning on a wireless system. Both are routine repairs. Do not disconnect the alarm. Call us first and we will either talk you through the reset on the phone or send an engineer the same day during working hours.
