What changes the price

  • How many doors and rooms you want covered. The packages differ only in the number of detectors, and each extra door contact or room sensor adds to the total.
  • Garages, sheds and outbuildings. We use dual-tech sensors for garages and sheds.
  • How you want to set the alarm. An extra keypad or key fobs make daily use easier, especially if you use more than one door.
  • Extra sirens. A second external siren or decoy siren on another side of the house.
  • Adding CCTV. A CCTV package is from £450 (indicative). See home CCTV installation.
  • What's there already. If you have an existing system, taking it over or upgrading it may cost less than starting again, or it may not. We'll tell you which makes sense.

Wired vs wireless: how it affects the cost

A wireless alarm usually means less labour. There are no cables to run under floors or chase into walls, so there's less disruption and less making good afterwards.

A wired alarm needs a cable to every detector. In a finished, decorated home that means more work. Where cabling is already in place, or you're renovating anyway, wired can still make sense.

Wireless detectors run on batteries, which need replacing from time to time. Wired detectors are powered from the control panel.

Ongoing costs after installation

  • App subscription. The first 12 months are included in every package. Ask us about app subscription after the first year.
  • Professional monitoring. Self-monitoring through the app is standard. Professional 24/7 monitoring through an Alarm Receiving Centre is optional, so ask us for a price if you want it. Read how alarm monitoring works.
  • Batteries. Wireless detectors and the control panel's backup battery need replacing eventually.
  • Repairs. All equipment has a 12-month warranty. For anything else, see house alarm repairs and call-outs and call us for a price.
